The Brew: Electoral Massacre for Republicans Nationwide

There’s no lipstick garish enough to decorate this pig: Last night’s election was a wipeout for Republican candidates in almost every important race. It’s a wake-up call and a warning before next year’s midterm congressional contest. If the Democrats win that, kiss goodbye to the last two years of President Trump’s term in office, except as a lame duck subject to non-stop, farcical impeachment hearings.

What happened? All politics is local, so different factors decided the various races. But a common theme was this: Without Donald Trump on the ballot, Republicans seem unable to overcome the advantages Democrats baked into the system — from massive Third World immigration that transformed local electorates, and still-intact corruption in vote-counting software, to the deep divisions that still plague the GOP between diehard anti-Trump elitists and populists who follow his model.

It certainly didn’t help that the most prominent media figure on the Right, Tucker Carlson, chose the build-up to this election as the right time to platform reckless racist demagogue Nick Fuentes — launching a political civil war among conservatives. For weeks now, instead of talking about Biden’s Justice Department spying on Republican members of Congress, or Democrat politicians protecting human traffickers from justice, we’ve had to relitigate World War II. Globalists who despise Trump and largely backed the lawfare aimed at jailing him seized the opportunity to pretend that the Republican party was healthier when it was run by open-borders interventionists like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

Meanwhile, Democrats displayed a chilling political discipline, refusing to renounce any Leftist however extreme — and managing to elect some of the most unsavory, indeed un-American candidates in U.S. history. Here are a few of the happy winners:

An Attorney General in Virginia Who Wants to Murder Republican Children

Jay Jones won the race to become the highest law enforcement official in George Washington’s home state, despite the revelation that he engages in murder fantasies about Republican candidates and their small children:

A Governor in Virginia Who Wouldn’t Renounce the Murder Enthusiast

Running against lackluster candidate Winsome Sears — an anti-Trump Republican — Abigail Spanberger was elected Governor of Virginia, despite her unwillingness to denounce Jones for his embrace of political violence, and her support for abortion up through birth. Indeed, she’s as far left on most issues as any Democrat in California:

A Mayor in New York City Who Campaigns with Terrorists

Terrified “moderates” demanded that Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa drop out of the New York City mayoral race, to make room for Blue State Nursing Home Genocide architect Andrew Cuomo — who lost the Democrat primary, and ran a third-party spoiler campaign — to beat slightly further Left insurgent Zohran Kwame Mahmdani. And now many likely will blame Sliwa, but they have no ground to stand on: Even if Sliwa had withdrawn, and every one of his voters had switched to Cuomo, Mahmdani would still have won.

That’s how bad the electorate has become in New York City, where almost half of residents were born in the Third World. No surprise that they brought with them Third World voting preferences: free stuff from the government, don’t worry about how to pay for it.

Mahmdani campaigned with an unindicted co-conspirator in the first World Trade Center bombing, and is a proud member of the far-Left Democratic Socialists of America — whose platform includes slashing police funding, refusing to prosecute misdemeanors (such as shoplifting), and transforming privately owned rental apartments into government-run communes. Given Mahmdani’s close ties to jihad supporters, the United Jewish Appeal-Federation issued this statement at his victory:

We will hold all elected officials, including Mayor-elect Mamdani, fully accountable for ensuring that New York remains a place where Jewish life and support for Israel are protected and can thrive. We will continue to confront, without hesitation, the alarming rise in antisemitism and hate crimes, and loudly call out any rhetoric or actions that delegitimize Israel or excuse antisemitism.

Democrats also won the governor’s race in New Jersey, which some Republicans had seen as potentially winnable, by a 13-percent margin. In California, where Gavin Newsom sought a mandate to gerrymander away the remaining Republican congressional seats in that state, he got it — by a margin of 65-35 percent. In Virginia, the lieutenant governor’s race went for the first time to a Muslim, Ghazala Hashmi, by 55-44 percent.

President Trump reacted to this political tidal wave on social media:

Republicans had better face this fact: Unless he chooses to do something unprecedented like … run for Vice-President, Trump will never be on the national ballot again. What exactly are our plans for dealing with that reality? Given a political genius (for all his flaws) on the order of Bill Clinton, our party chose to spend the past nine years trying to derail and delegitimize Trump. And now we have no idea what we are going to do without him. I can see the party elites printing up their “Bush 2028” signs already.

Biden-Sponsored Prosecutor Seized Trump’s Phone

How will the Democrats use power wherever they get it? When somebody shows you who he is, believe him. The Arctic Frost witchhunt that prosecutor Jack Smith conducted against anyone who questioned the integrity of the 2020 election is a preview of the future, if the GOP doesn’t figure out how to win. This post by Attorney General Pam Bondi reminds us just how ruthless the Left is willing to be:

British Patriot Tommy Robinson Acquitted of Bogus “Terror” Charge

In some good news from overseas, the British government has been stymied in its latest attempt to imprison populist leader Tommy Robinson — this time over the transparently trumped-up charge of violating anti-terrorism laws, for refusing to turn over his smartphone to police. Human Events reports:

British activist Tommy Robinson has been found not guilty on Friday morning after he was charged with terror offenses for not giving police access to his phone during a border stop. Robinson was driving to Spain when he was stopped at the Channel tunnel in 2024.

Judge Sam Goozee determined that Robinson was not guilty of the charge of failing to comply with counter terrorism measures. Goozee stated that he believed that Robinson was stopped by police not as part of a routine stop or for probable cause, but because of Robinson’s beliefs.

“I cannot put out of my mind that it was actually what you stood for and your political beliefs that acted for the principle reason for this stop,” Goozee said. He went on to say that the stop was based on a “protected characteristic” and told Robinson “I cannot convict you.”

Three cheers for a British judge who still cares about British justice.

Don’t miss this powerful analysis by David Clements of the spiritual war we’re facing, whose political ripples are only the manifestation of a deeper, darker struggle.

Later this morning, brew a cup of coffee and read this in-depth analysis of how we get complex, powerful products we often take for granted, such as smartphones — not from government programs or central planning, but the “miracle” of the free market.
