(POLL) Majority say in-person voting is more secure than mail-in ballots

The following is from Rasmussen Reports.

A new Rasmussen Reports survey finds that most voters prefer in-person voting over mail-in ballots when it comes to election security.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of likely US voters say voting in person at a polling place is the best way to ensure results are secure and counted accurately.

Just 13% say mail-in voting is better, while 30% say it makes no difference.

President Donald Trump recently called for eliminating both mail-in ballots and electronic voting machines, arguing it would improve election integrity.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters say they approve of that idea, including 32% who strongly approve. Forty-five percent (45%) disapprove.

When it comes to paper ballots versus electronic machines, voters are more divided. Thirty-six percent (36%) say paper ballots are more secure, while 29% say electronic machines are better. Another 28% say there’s little difference.

Among those who favor paper ballots, 74% back Trump’s proposal.

Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republicans, 38% of Democrats, and 48% of independents say in-person voting is more secure.

Overall, 76% of Republicans support Trump’s proposal to ban mail-in ballots and electronic machines, compared to 31% of Democrats and 39% of independents.

The survey of 1,127 likely US voters was conducted August 19-21, 2025, with a margin of error of +/- 3%.
