Don’t you hate it when you get on the mailing list of a terrorist organization? Oh wait, maybe that hasn’t happened to you. It happens to every journalist, I promise. The Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) is nothing if not thorough, and fills up my inbox with self-righteous if unhinged reports on an almost daily basis.
“Oh, you pesky terrorists!”, I’ll find myself finger-wagging sometimes as I hit the Delete button — a reaction that in a blue state might qualify as a hate crime. But the great state of Texas has classified CAIR, along with its parent organization the Muslim Brotherhood, as terrorist groups:
Now Texas Governor Greg Abbott hasn’t taken such a step lightly. In fact, local critics claim he did so only with his arm twisted up behind his back as he seeks re-election, while aggressive Muslim colonists seek to turn Texas into a southwestern version of Minnesota — where Somali clans battle for power over hapless, cowed native-born citizens. Sound ludicrous to you? There are plenty of warning signs, as the RAIR Foundation reported last week:
Last week, Texas officials handed ceremonial Keys to the City of Houston and Sugar Land to Mawlana Hazar Imam — the 50th hereditary leader of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, a transnational religious hierarchy that answers to no American authority.
Elected officials praised him like a visiting head of state:
Houston Mayor John Whitmire
Sugar Land Mayor Carol McCutcheon
Mayor Pro Tem Rick Miller
Ismaili Council President Al-Karim AlidinaCity streets were closed. Police lined the route. A youth choir performed a mash-up of the U.S. National Anthem and the Nashid al-Imamah — a hymn venerating the Imam as God’s chosen guide….
Now, the pageantry has moved north.
From Houston, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Dallas, where the same ritual repeated — only bigger.
City leaders from Dallas, Carrollton, Plano, Euless, and Lewisville turned up to honor him.
Keys to the Cities: Dallas, Euless, and Carrollton
Proclamations: Plano and LewisvilleIsmaili boy and girl scouts formed honor guards. Youth choirs once again performed both the U.S. Anthem and the Nashid al-Imamah.
Local officials smiled, waved, and praised “the civic contributions of the Jamaat.”This wasn’t a spiritual gathering — it was a public coronation tour for a foreign imam.
RAIR also warns that the “Sharia city” long planned for a north suburb of Dallas is still in the works, after a cosmetic rebrand:
A highly controversial proposed Islamic-focused development in North Texas–formerly known as EPIC City–is once again moving forward under a new name, “The Meadow,” according to county officials and engineering documents obtained by RAIR Foundation USA.
The 400-acre project, backed by the shadowy Community Capital Partners (CCP) and the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), is planned for unincorporated Collin and Hunt counties, just north of the city of Josephine, Texas. Despite Governor Greg Abbott’s earlier claim that the project had been “halted,” developers now appear poised to submit their plans to the county and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for review.
County Judge Chris Hill confirmed that, although no plat has yet been filed, “CCP has filed or soon intends to file” an application to create a municipal utility district–a step that would grant the project infrastructure and taxing authority. Hill emphasized that the switch to the name ‘The Meadows’ wasn’t accidental; it appeared on planning documents from Westwood Professional Services, a national engineering firm with operations in Plano.
What kind of shenanigans have groups such as CAIR been up to? The New York Post reports:
Anti-Israel agitators who spread disruption at US colleges and were punished by authorities were awarded checks for $1,000 by a Muslim nonprofit, The Post has learned.
The money was given to students who faced penalties for leading pro-Palestinian protests before and after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 2023, according to a bombshell report by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) and the Intelligent Advocacy Network (IAN).
The cash was awarded from a “Champions of Justice Fund,” set up by the California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) as “institutional endorsement,” the report claims.
In California, the largest arm of the CAIR web of nonprofits, affiliates in San Francisco and Los Angeles raised more than $100,000 in donations for campus radicals, while the main group solicited $64,000 in donations, records show.
Was this what our founders had in mind when they specified that the federal government couldn’t establish a single Christian church, or prohibit the free exercise of religion? Maybe they never imagined that U.S. immigration policy might be so manifestly insane as to prefer members of an intolerant, conquering creed over Christians, because our government fell in love with “diversity” for its own sake.
As he waged America’s very first foreign war after independence against slave-trading jihadis the Barbary Pirates, President Thomas Jefferson probably never imagined that the government of New York City would be hunting the leader of worldwide Jewry. But that’s where we are, after the election of the first Muslim mayor of New York City:
Democrats Call on Military to Disobey Presidential Orders
There’s nothing to worry about though, since Americans of both parties are united behind the rule of law and our constitutional norms. Aren’t they? Well maybe not these members of Congress, as Gateway Pundit reports:
Congressional Democrats are now encouraging members of the military and intelligence community to sabotage Trump from within.
Senators Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona, along with Representatives Chris DeLuzio of Pennsylvania, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, and Jason Crow of Colorado, posted a video on Tuesday essentially ordering these professionals to betray Trump and implement a ‘soft coup,’ rendering him powerless to carry out his policies.
Even as President Trump is hampered by lawless court injunctions at every turn, and deports illegal aliens at a slower rate than Barack Obama, these Democrats are pretending that he’s acting like a dictator, and signaling military and intelligence personnel that they should slow-walk or out right disobey his orders. Because even elected presidents acting within the letter and spirit of the Constitution must answer to a higher authority: The Deep State, the permanent government, and our nation’s arrogant elites.
How Should Conservatives Respond to Racists and Tribalists?
As the controversy provoked by Tucker Carlson’s promotional interview of bigoted guttersnipe Nick Fuentes continues to rile conservative organizations — including the massive Heritage Foundation — principled people are arguing over the most prudent response. Should the Right purge itself of every populist impulse and employee and go back to the “glory” days when the GOP was led by Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and David French? Or should we embrace the dark urge to flout every convention and assert our fallen wills, whatever the cost? Conservative scholar Samuel Gregg suggests a more fruitful course of action, a Golden Mean between equally destructive extremes, in a piece at Law and Liberty.
Gregg points to the example of Alexis de Toqueville, a French aristocrat who embraced American freedom, as he navigated a principled course between far-left proto-Communists on the one hand, and racist materialists on the other. Brew a cup of coffee and give his essay a read.
