Today lawsuits were filed in two Colorado counties challenging the use of electronic voting systems in the November general election. The lawsuits are filed in the state district courts for the respective counties. The basis of the lawsuits is that the electronic voting systems violate Colorado and federal law by systematically deleting files and other data that are required to be maintained under the respective statutes. Accordingly, it is illegal to use these systems in the upcoming November election. The lawsuits are filed under a special Colorado statute that allows for expedited treatment of complaints about the conduct of upcoming elections. They are supported by an extensive declaration by a well qualified cyber security expert.
