An open letter to Nevada’s Governor, Joe Lombardo, encouraging support for President Trump’s comprehensive election reforms.

Dear Governor Joe Lombardo,
Grassroots in Nevada stands ready to support you in embracing President Donald J. Trump’s comprehensive election reforms.
In anticipation of the President keeping his campaign promises on election reform, grassroots Nevadans have diligently labored to prepare Nevada to make swift, decisive and impactful changes for when the time comes for a response to President Trump’s action and leadership as he explicitly stated on August 20, 2025, “END MAIL-IN VOTING, AND GO TO PAPER BALLOTS, 100 additional seats will go to Republicans!!!” That time is upon us and we can say that we are ready to act, and we ask you, our Governor, to join with the grassroots to make Nevada a national leader in election reform.
On August 18, 2025, building upon his March 25 Executive Order 14248, President Trump called for eliminating mail-in ballots and voting machines; advocating for a return to hand-counted elections on secure paper ballots. The President has pledged an Executive Order to secure the 2026 midterms and we believe Nevada is ready to engage with the President to take Nevada boldly into the future of secure, accurate, transparent and completely trustworthy elections. We, the undersigned, representing many Nevada citizens, urge you to rally the State into action, calling for a special session of the Legislature, before October, so that Nevadans can be fully ready for the upcoming June 2026 Primaries.
The Executive Orders, existing and forthcoming, on securing our elections are undeniably rooted in law and do faithfully uphold the integrity of our Constitution and respect for State’s rights. There is no need for any doubt, hesitation or apprehension as to their legitimacy. The U.S. Congress has delegated clear authority to the President through the National Emergencies Act (NEA). These emergency powers give the President liberty to act swiftly and decisively to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure in time of need.
On January 6, 2017, the Obama Administration designated elections as critical infrastructure—systems under the President’s protective executive umbrella vital to national security and preservation. This designation continues to the present day as well as being endorsed by President Trump in a recent post. When elections are compromised by mail-in fraud and significant machine vulnerabilities, even as evidenced recently by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, this triggers an emergency in the critical infrastructure of America’s election systems and gives the President power to act. Trump’s EOs, including measures to verify voter eligibility and enforce ballot security, resolve this crisis lawfully. The NEA ensures this authority is unassailable, dispelling any doubts over the President’s ability to act.
Nevada must and can act now. The recently published “The Meyers Report” shows Nevada ranked last amongst all states on election security, grade F, and yet 73% of Nevada’s voters want voter ID to secure the voting process. Nevada’s election process has failed to secure the trust of its people and has earned the ignominy of the world.
This can quickly end with a leadership and grassroots combined effort to implement elections that are like they were done here only a few decades ago. Elections with hand counted ballots, voter IDs and accurate voter rolls without election machines and mail-in ballots. With President Trump’s Executive Orders and Nevada’s grassroots reform, we are positioned to lead the nation in securing the next election.
We call on you, our Governor, to champion this cause by calling for a special session of the Legislature before October, and furthermore advocating for compliance with President Trump’s EOs so that Nevada can stand as a national leader with the President who is fighting to protect the rights of all Nevadans in this historic and critical hour.
